As someone with many years of formalized education, I recognize the privileges that have come with that journey. I deeply value the experiences of self-study and informal education.
In my journey to become a licensed therapist, I completed my practicum hours at Liberation Institute in San Francisco and Life Source in Riverside. Both offer affordable therapy options to marginalized communities.
In addition to the therapy world, I have over 15+ years of experience as a social-emotional educator and life coach. I graduated from the Institute for Life Coach Training (ILCT) in 2011. For several years, I practiced as a board-certified life coach. I have also worked in K-12 schools, colleges, and nonprofits since the 90s. A lot of my past experiences have taught me what not to do as a human. Working in oppressive systems has created a sense of compassion for others and their experiences. I care a lot about equity and justice, especially in the fields of education, coaching, and therapy.
I'm an East Coaster who ventured West about 20 years ago. Growing up on the East Coast in a working-class area in the 80s taught me about resilience. Venturing West away from my family allowed me to begin a journey within. My experience is well-rounded and one I've approached with a deep sense of curiosity.
I live in Sonoma County with my partner, kids, and dog. I love hanging out at the beach, gardening, hiking, and exploring new places. My interests include creating art, hanging out with animals, bird watching, yoga, meditation, weight lifting, roller skating, dancing, drag, and making house music. I love a good beat!
